The Amazing South West

April 2016 (we did a lot in April)

Walnut Canyon, Wupatki, Wukoki, Lomaki, Sunset Crater Volcano, Montezuma’s Castle, Tuzigoot, Saguaro: The National Parks and Monuments in Arizona are not to be missed! And we didn’t even see half of what the National Park System has to offer by way of Arizona in April of 2016! From natural wonders, to incredible structures built by the ancient people who first lived here to the wild horses that run free, if you go to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon don’t forget to make time for the rest of these amazing places. And while you’re at it stop by Sedona, AZ for the beautiful red rock formations! These pictures are a bit mixed up and I'm not sure about the location.

People hiking Walnut Canyon
Yes, we bought a doggie stroller!

Climbing among the ruins was awesome!

Montezuma's Castle
(Montezuma didn't really build it or live here)

A nice Park Service Employee took this for us!

I think this is Tuzigoot

You can climb to the top of the ruins at Tuzigoot

Jackson loved the view from the top, Jenny was a bit cautious.

Beautiful Sedona
I couldn't get enough of the red rocks!

Chapel of the Holy Cross Built into the cliffs in Sedona

Saguaro Cactus are amazing! Much bigger than I thought!

The wild horses were protecting a foal so we didn't get too close.

April is a great time to visit Saguaro Nat' Park!
The desert in bloom is gorgeous and it's not too hot!

Jenny and Jackson love hiking around!

About Me

My photo
Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
