Family, Friends and Corn and Corn and Corn!

August 2016

August was all about family! We headed to Nebraska for two family reunions!
Larry’s parents and a couple of siblings live in Nebraska so we go back
to see them when we can but we don’t always make it for the annual family reunion.
This year there was a reunion for his mom’s siblings AND his dad’s
siblings so we made sure we made it back!

This is Chai! Our dog nephew! He's adorable but
his rotten cousin, Jackson doesn't like him.

Tomato, cucumber salad!
Rice Krispy Treats!

My contributions to the reunion pot luck!

COUSINS!!!! On Larry's Dad's side of the family!
They have a raffle to help offset the cost.
I bid on this rubber band gun and won!
 There was corn everywhere!
 A beautiful Nebraska sunset!
The McBride Sisters!  From Larry's Mom's side of the family!

Ann with her husband, Bud and kids, grandkids and great grandkids!

Janet, her husband Gus, two of her 5 kids,
Steve and Larry and me, her daughter-in-law!

The other 2 sisters left
before we could get pictures
of them with their families!

I thought this old wagon was some kind of Gypsy wagon but my friend Maxye looked it up and found out it's an old Shepherd's wagon. It was so cool! I love old things but how awesome would it be if someone restored it?!?

The Shepherd's wagon sat on the same property as this old house.
I'm pretty sure it was haunted!

More old stuff from the property.
I think that's a knocked over outhouse back there!

Stella in the field!

Our Brother-in-law, Matt (JoAnn's husband) gave me this awesome giant zucchini!

I fried it up and made 8
individual servings of
Zucchini Parmesan!
Like Eggplant Parmesan
except with zucchini!

 YUM!!!! SO GOOD!!!!

Lunch at Chances R
Larry and his baby sister, JoAnn

It was so nice to be able to visit with Gus and Janet, Larry's parents.

Larry’s brother Steve got us an RV spot in his little town! It was clean and friendly and surrounded by corn! After a couple of days the coal trains that went by every 20 minutes or so became background noise… sort of!

About Me

My photo
Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
