Wine Country!

February 2017

Our son Jeffry is a chef in Paso Robles, CA

Now here’s where I get to brag a little!

Paso is known world wide for their food and wine. They have festivals celebrating food and wine every year: some of these involve competitions. Our son is the Mac and Cheese King of Paso!
His Mac and Cheese is gourmet: the stuff of legends!
Not your Grandma's Mac and Cheese!

They also have a Pinot and Paella festival, which he has won 3 times in a row!

Jeffry's award winning Paella!

A little family romantic history: Jeffry met a beautiful young woman named Kathleen and took her to the Pinot and Paella festival. A few years later they celebrated by getting engaged!

Jeffry had a sweet proposal etched on the back of a mini Paella Pan and presented it to her!

We got a beautiful daughter-in-law and 2 beautiful granddaughters in the deal!

We love these guys so much!
Check out this menu!

He also makes killer sandwiches!
AND homemade potato chips!

Plus everything comes with this awesome view!

While in Paso we stayed at Wine Country RV. A really nice RV Park with cabins and lots to do. Someday we’re going to go there and actually do some of the stuff . This time we pretty much visited Jeffry, Kathleen and the girls!

Jeffry and Kathleen hosted a Mardi Gras Party while we were there! Of course the food was scrumptious! He made Jambalaya and a veggie Gumbo for me. I’m a Pescetarian, no that’s not a religion. I’m a vegetarian who eats fish. Both were so incredibly delicious I took the chicken and sausage out of the Jambalaya, left in the shrimp and ate up!

Having a son who’s a chef is kinda awesome! Having a son who’s smart enough to marry a truly wonderful woman is even awesomer!

Next time you’re in Paso Robles for a wine tour (or any other reason) don’t forget to stop in at Grey Wolf Winery for some fabulous wine and head on back to Barton’s Kitchen window for some of the best food you’ll ever eat!

Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
