Cowpens National Battlefield!

October 2016

Forest City, NC, where we stayed, is just across the border from Gaffney, SC: home of Cowpens National Battlefield. I’d never heard of it but it’s an NPS site so we had to go! It was one of those eerie places where I could feel the fear from the participants of long ago battles. It was interesting and really quite beautiful but I couldn’t stay there too long. The lady at the desk told us it was called cowpens long before any battles took place because it was a communal pasture that all the farmers in the surrounding area knew about and would bring their cows there. She said battles from both the Revolutionary war and the Civil War took place there.

I kept thinking these were the guns used when the 2nd amendment was written!
We either need to abolish that outdated law or only allow THESE guns!

How many lives were lost in this beautiful, peaceful place?

About Me

Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
