October 2016
One of my favorite places along the way was Currahee RV
Park in Toccoa, Georgia! Maybe because we met some awesome people there! Donna
and Dave had some amazing stories about their travels in other countries and
Betty was the host of a radio talk show focusing on LGBTQ issues in Georgia!
It’s always fun to meet fellow RVers!

Donna and Dave had to move on but Betty and I went into Helen,
GA.
They were celebrating Oktoberfest!
On the way to Helen we stopped off at this adorable little shop!
California has Solvang! Georgia has Helen!
Some random guy saw Betty taking my picture. He comes up to me, "No, no, no! You need this!" And plops the hat on my head! I love festivals that involve alcohol consumption!
I really don't like the idea of horse drawn carriages in places like this.
But this carriage was awesome!
What a fun day!
After Toccoa we moved on to Rockmart, GA. The spot they
gave us was on an incline! The whole park was pretty much a series of rolling
inclines. Not a flat spot in the park! We had a scary moment setting up when the
landing gear slipped off the plastic risers! I thought the rig was going to
fall over on its side! After that Larry bought a giant 1 inch thick rubber matt
and cut them into squares. They work much better than the plastic risers. The
place was uneven but we got amazing sunsets EVERY night! Not to mention the
burrows that showed up! One of our neighbors gave them some carrots so every
evening they would come and bray loudly asking for more!
First night sunset!
Second night sunset!
Jenny is not fond of baths or pedicures even if you get an awesome bandana! |
