Emerald Cove and Colorado River Adventures

December 2016

Larry had been getting solicitation calls for months from someone who said if we listened to their spiel for an hour we could stay in their RV Park for 5 days for free. The place was called Emerald Cove. It was part of the Colorado River Adventure system.
We were heading home and it was on our way so we figured… why not?
It’s on the California side of the Colorado River across from Parker, AZ. One of the big draws for the place is boating on the river. We don’t have a boat. Another draw is riding ATVs and motorcycles in the desert trails around the area. We have neither ATV nor motorcycle. We knew we were going to go to their little talk, say no thank you and be on our way. We just knew it!
Turns out they are part of the larger Coast to Coast and RPI (Resort Parks International) systems. We listened and realized we probably would save money buying into the membership! It’s been 6 months now. They have a lot more rules, regulations and restrictions than I understood when we signed up but once I figured everything out we really are saving money. I figure within 2 years the cost of membership will be paid for in what we’re saving in RV Park fees. If you live full time in your RV and travel as much as we do it’s totally worth the hefty membership fee, which apparently is different depending on where you sign up.

While there we did some sightseeing and visited Parker Dam. We took walks around the park and enjoyed the wild donkeys that show up in the evening, met some interesting people and generally had a nice visit.

I love this picture! It's the moon coming up but my cameral phone wouldn't focus.

I think it looks like a Monet!

Look close. It looks like a donkey is driving this car!

 Parker Dam.

I've been collecting Family Ornament since 1990.
They won't fit on my tiny trailer tree so I hung them up all around the trailer instead!

If you love the RV lifestyle, whether you're retired or not,
I highly recommend joining Coast to Coast! If you're a full time RVer who loves to travel
it's an absolute must!

About Me

My photo
Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
