Thanksgiving!

November 2017

Since it’s almost Christmas I thought maybe I’d get my Thanksgiving post done!
It was awesome! We picked up Mom and headed south to Thousand Oaks! It was the first time 3 generations of people who owned that house were there all together!

Wasn't exactly traditional Thanksgiving weather... unless you're from Southern California!

Love these goofy guys! They asked me if I'd ever heard of a group called
THE BEATLES!!!
They watch a cartoon called Beatbugs! They sing Beatles Songs!

Griffin really enjoyed Great Grandmas's cool walking toy!

Kelly and Kerrie were there and we had a feast!

My Baby Girl with Her Baby Boy!

The puppies were a bit overwhelmed with all the people so they stuck close to Daddy!
Great Grandma (GG) with four of her (almost) 22 Great Grand Kids!

Love being with my kids for the Holidays!

I’ll have all four of them and hopefully ALL the Grandkids for Christmas!
The oldest has a job and her own apartment now so we’re not sure!

Halloween!

October 2017

The hardest part of being in Bakersfield was knowing that my Grandkids were a short 2-hour drive away and not seeing them! After 2 ½ weeks I couldn’t take it anymore and went to visit them. Larry is still doing his Physical Therapy so he drove me down on a Saturday and came to pick me up the next Thursday.
I got to spend the next 6 days in Grandma Heaven!
I got to watch my beautiful Savannah cheer!

I got to take Delaney, A.K.A Lalaloopsy, to PreK... and dance class (she was Moana at Dance Class).

I got to be silly with Wyatt and Griffin!

Being silly with your Grandkids is the best!
Griffin got a Bag O Blood at the game!

Pre K Halloween fun!

Delaney and her Dance BFF

Elsa came to dance for them!

And I went trick or treating with the Hodgepodge!

Savannah went with her friends.

I got my Grandma Fix for a few days!
It was wonderful!

Bakersfield

October 2017

We made it to Bakersfield!
We’re staying in a really nice RV Park surrounded by everything we need!
Grocery stores, Gas Stations, Movie Theaters, and there’s even a really nice restaurant called
The Crest in the RV Park!
And Costco! There are 2 Costcos a short drive from us! I missed Costco!
My mom, my brother and his family all live close by!

My sister, Connie, from Washington State flew out for a visit with our mom so I got to visit with her and my oldest brother, Doug, and my youngest brother, Steve came out for a visit! The first thing we did was meet up with a bunch of family for lunch!

My nephew Andy, his beautiful wife Tiffany, their adorable daughters, Scarlet and Abby
and my mom, trying to decide what she's going to eat.

My brother, Doug, the one wearing the Brooklyn Dodgers t-shirt, had tickets to the playoff game with the Cubs. He went up to every person he saw wearing Dodger Blue and showed off his tickets!
He was a tad excited!

I love getting together with my siblings and their families!

Scarlet loves having a baby sister to play with!
And Abby loves that her big sister plays with her!

Connie, Me, and Mom having lunch before Blade Runner 2049!
Loved the first one!
This one was okay.
This rose at the RV Park was one of the most beautiful smelling roses ever!
My sweet Grand-Niece, Lila and her puppy Lucy!

Things I Missed about California!

October 2017

We spent a few days at one of our Colorado River Adventure home parks on the
California side of the Colorado River.
It made me think of some of the things I miss most about California!

MOUNTAINS!
I really missed mountains!
You can see mountains from our old house. I loved those mountains!
When I was a kid my Grandmother used to visit us.
I remember her commenting on how beautiful the mountains were.
She said to me,"I don't think someone who sees these every day can truly appreciate how beautiful they are."
I smiled and said, "Nope! I see them everyday and I LOVE them!"
Clear beautiful rivers and lakes! The rivers in the midwest look like flowing mud!
I missed seeing the bottom of rivers! I missed seeing the reflections of things in the water!

Palm Trees! I really missed Palm Trees!

Going into a store and seeing DOGER BLUE instead of Husker Red!

But most of all...
 And these guys!

And these two!

I really miss these guys!

Can't wait to hug them all!

On The Road Again!

October 2017

On Sunday, October 1st we left the cornfields of Nebraska and headed south to the wheat fields of Kansas!
We didn’t stay very long in any one place because we’re trying to head west to Bakersfield, CA so Larry could resume his Physical Therapy.
We did make time along the way to visit with family...
Larry with Aunt Connie and Uncle Gary
We met them for lunch and had a great time eating and chatting!

Cousin Phil & his wife Sharon treated us to make your own pizza.
Never cooked Pizza on the grill before. It was yummy

I haven't seen Phillip since he was 17
and I finally got to meet his awesome wife, Sharon and son, Max.
Daughter Maggie was busy at college.
Phil, Max, Sharon & Sherry
We also got a chance to take in a few sites.
Beautiful sky in Kansas
We were in Albuquerque, NM for the opening day of their annual Balloon Fiesta!

But I had to borrow this awesome picture from someone in cyberspace
because we were too far outside Albuquerque to see anything!

We did see these awesome classic cars and trailers in the RV Park though!

We stayed again at one of my favorite places, Williams, AZ: the gateway to the Grand Canyon!
Of course we got in late and had to leave early
so this photo is from the last time we were here in April!

Interesting things we saw along the way.

A water tower about to fall over
Lots and lots and lots of wind turbines

After 3 months in a cornfield seeing a mountain again, even a small one, made my heart happy!

And the beautiful colors of the rocks in Arizona took my breath away!
(The colors were brighter than this depicts)

Our travels also took us through Winslow, AZ! After Glenn Frey passed away they added a bronze statue of him to the Standin’ On The Corner Park! Of course we had to go back!

It’s been an adventure and we loved spending time with family in Nebraska but
I’m happy to be heading home!

About Me

My photo
Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
