September 2017
Larry’s arm is doing
much better, thank you Miracle Matt and York General Physical Therapy.
He can drive
now. He’s been off the prescription pain meds for quite some time and he hardly
even takes Tylenol anymore. He’s been able to sleep in a bed instead of the
recliner for a while. Matt did recommend that he wear the arm sling while
sleeping so that he doesn’t thrash around but yesterday he even said he could
stop that. The thing that makes me nervous is men have a way of greeting each
other with a slap on the arm. I’ve seen them do it before but now I’m hyper
aware of it so I see it all the time! What’s up with that anyway? What a
strange way to say hello. Wearing the sling kept people (and by people I mean
men. Women hug or just say hello) from doing that. Now that Matt says he
doesn’t need to wear the sling anymore I get to be the one who watches for this
odd gesture
and hopefully stop it before they do it and we end up in the hospital again.
Anyway… they say he’s
fit to move on. He’ll have 6 to 8 more weeks of physical therapy but they’ve
given him enough exercises he can do on his own so he can take a break from
seeing someone for a while.
We hit the road again
October 1st!!!
We’re heading south
to OKC then west to Bakersfield! We’ll be able to visit with some family and
friends and hopefully see a sky full of balloons in Albuquerque!
I’ll post pics!
For now here’s
Larry’s (ever the engineer) contraption for keeping his arm loose!
The pulley worked really well keeping his arm loose but the ropes were hurting his wrists.
He added carabiners to the rope. Problem solved!
