Oklahoma

April 2018

My heart is breaking right now for my beloved hometown, Thousand Oaks, CA. Larry and I left family and friends in T.O. 3 years ago to wander the country but it will ALWAYS be home!
We pray for the victims of the Borderline shooting and for all affected by the devastating fires. Thousand Oaks is a strong, loving, caring community and the stories of how they are helping each other now warms my heart.

#T.O STRONG! #T.O.GETHER!

Since writing is how I cope with things I’m going to write about our time in Oklahoma.

We stayed for a few days in OKC. It snowed! In early April! That was new for us!
The RV park had lots of cats. They seemed to enjoy walking past our window and sending the dogs into a hissy fit!
I think they’d lost their voices at this point and just sat there and stared at them.

Larry’s Uncle Pete and Aunt Susan, From Norman, OK took us out to dinner. It was really great getting to know them better. I guess the conversation was so good I forgot about taking pictures.
But it was a wonderful dinner!

After a few days in OKC we traveled to a Coast to Coast Park in Checotah, Ok
Larry is always a bit nervous when we go to Oklahoma because of the threat of tornados
so he was relieved to see a storm shelter... right outside our back window!
The park was on a lovely lake so we took leisurely walks every day!
No storms just quite walks.

I thought these were cute!

I had some time to kill in Checotah so I decided to try my hand at homemade tortillas.
It was harder than I thought it would be but here's my first attempt. They weren't pretty but they were tasty!

About Me

Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
