Wine Country!

December 2017

We spent 2 months in Bakersfield so Larry could continue his Physical Therapy
then headed to Paso Robles, CA to visit Jeffry, Kathleen, Jordan and Julia!
We had a blast! My son is THE BEST CHEF EVER! Plus he just paid off his student loans that helped him to become THE BEST CHEF EVER! Yay Jeffry!!!

Jeffry and Kathleen in the kitchen where much of the magic happens!

We got to just hang out, eat and visit. We got to go to our Granddaughter, Julia’s first place of employment and have great pizza! And her sister, Jordan was able to come! Which was pretty awesome because she’s living in her first apartment, going to school and working TWO jobs! We’re so proud of both of them!

Julia at her first job!

A little blurry but we were having so much fun!
Our amazing Granddaughters! We're so proud of them!
 Jordan's new ride!

We also got to go to the Cambria Christmas Market! The music was awesome, the lights were spectacular and the company was so much fun! A side note: while there we tasted the best cup of coffee either one of us had ever had! Then we forgot to go back to the kiosk and find out what kind of coffee it was!!!! If anyone knows what kind of coffee was served there please message me and let me know! But we have decided to go on a coffee quest! Instead of buying large bags of coffee we’re going to buy different kinds of small bags and taste as many as we can until we find that perfect cup!

The lighting displays were so beautiful!

Birthday Fun!

December 2017

We got to go to three birthdays while we were in SoCal!
One for our adorable 1-year-old Great Niece, Abigail.

Abby surrounded by her loving sister, cousins and friends!

2 of her Great Aunts were there to celebrate with her.

Then for our amazing 5 year old Granddaughter, Delaney!
Delaney celebrated her 5th with lots of friends and family at the
Victory Gymnastics Academy.
What a fun place to have a party!

Learning how to be safe before they let them loose!

 Little Brother, Griffin loved bouncing!

 Mommy and the birthday girl!

And a party for my mom! She used to lie about her age, she was 24 for most of my childhood!
Now she openly admits to being 86!
Getting help from some of her Great-Granddaughters with all those candles!

Who looks this amazing at 86!?!
My Mom!

My brother Dave wanted in on the action!

The reason we got to celebrate with her is we had reservations at an RV Park in Santa Barbara, CA. With the Thomas Fire burning close by we were in contact with them frequently throughout the week to make sure it was safe. They assured us it was! We’d left Bakersfield to spend a week in Paso Robles with our son and his family then the morning we were supposed to show up in Santa Barbara we hitched up, hit the road and thought, maybe we should call one more time! Good thing we did! When I said who I was the woman said, “Oh, I’m glad you called. You were on our list.
The fire is too close and we have to shut down the park!”

So back to Bakersfield we went!
At least we got to take my mom to Star Wars: The Last Jedi and celebrate her birthday with her!

About Me

My photo
Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
