OFF TO BOX ELDER, SOUTH DAKOTA: DAY ONE

Woke up just the other day
Fell out of bed and my dog ran away.
The car won't start and the weather was cold and gray.
I got stuck in a traffic jam,
My major meeting didn't go as I planned.
Looks like it's gonna be another one of those days.

I got a roof over my head,
Someone to love me in a four poster bed,
And I can play this here guitar,
I thank my lucky stars.
Jimmy Buffett

We know how lucky we are to be able to retire at a relatively young age (we're both not quite 60) thus the name of this blog. Thank you Jimmy Buffett for your awesome song, I'll think of you every time I check into an RV Park. You'll see why in a few more posts!

December 23, 2015 We went to the Cheesecake Factory in Thousand Oaks
to celebrate our retirement!

December 26, 2015: First leg of our new life. We're off to Box Elder, South Dakota to get new driver's license and a new address:

Heading out to Box Elder, SD

Passed the world's biggest thermometer in Baker, CA
It says 52 degrees! Brrrrrr!

YAY! Subway has Veggie Patties!
(They were out!)

Stopped just outside Baker to pee and fill up
and saw this!

I DID NOT wish to be BIG!

The Virgin River Gorge is gorgeous through our moonroof!

I’ve been through Cedar City, UT many times, but it never looked like this! The snow was so beautiful!
It’s 1 degree out! ONE DEGREE!
Did I say 52 was cold? I'm trying to remember why we decided to do this again!

Day one: We drove 473 miles to Cedar City, Utah. This SoCal girl is Cold! Really cold! My poor puppies are so cold they can hardly pee! But I’m excited to see what tomorrow brings!

Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
