Albuquerque (part one)

March 2018

We met up with our good friends, Jim & Marsha in Albuquerque, NM. The last time we were here we took the Sandia Tramway and loved it so we knew we wanted to do it again with them.
Sharing it with friends made it even more awesome!

It's cold and windy up there!

We had also been to the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History and thought they might enjoy it so we went again. It’s a fascinating place. And it’s always nice to share experiences with friends.

We also went to a few new places we'd never been to before. One in particular was a little back ally restaurant in Old Town, where I had THE BEST Chili Relleno Burrito I've ever had! It was actually the first time I'd ever had one but it's now my favorite Mexican food! I think the place was called Sophia's. The chef told me she was from, I believe it was Chihuahua, an area known for Chili Relleno Burritos. Since we had dinner plans for later we were only looking for a small snack. Didn't want to spend a lot for a big, fancy sit down meal. I saw a sign for $2.00 tacos so we went in.
Super cute place with really nice staff.

We went to a few more new places that I'll feature in my next post!

Grand Canyon

March 2018

Well I dropped the ball on this one!
We actually visited the Grand Canyon before going to the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest
and I forgot to blog about it!
Even though we’ve been there several times, EVERY time is worth a blog! After all it is one of the seven natural wonders of the world! And for good reason! It’s amazing! Jenny has always been very cautious about venturing to close to the edge, whereas Jackson will just walk up and peer over. This time curiosity must have gotten the better of her because she did some peering herself!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures!

We saw a bunch of elk as we were leaving!

Another amazing day at The Grand Canyon!

Petrified Forest

March 2018

Okay second post about this amazing area!
It’s not hard to imagine the forest that used to thrive here with all the awesome stumps laying around. Some of them upright, some of them fallen over. They look so much like wood it's hard to believe they’re actually rock!
The rule of not pocketing pieces was hard for this wannabe geologist to follow but I promise you the ones I kept were legally purchased at a gift shop.

Some one parked this awesome car here a long time ago and it's been her ever since!

 You can count the rings!

They reinforced the bridge at some point!

I put it back, I promise!

 The puppies loved the trail!

Put this place on your Bucket List! It's awesome!
Hope you're enjoying our travels!

About Me

My photo
Larry and I decided to retire and hit the road. We bought a new 5th Wheel and new truck to pull it. We packed up the dogs and we're heading out to check off that bucket list. We wake up every morning and "Thank Our Lucky Stars" that we get to do this.
